Born in 1978 in Colmar, France, Lo now lives at the crossroads of France, Germany, and Switzerland, near Basel. His earliest memories of photography trace back to childhood afternoons spent with his father in the darkroom, watching images slowly emerge from silver and light.Years later, while living in Germany in his late twenties, that early fascination resurfaced. What began as a creative escape soon evolved into a true calling. Lo immersed himself in portrait, fashion, and artistic nude photography—deeply influenced by the poetic realism of Richard Avedon, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, and Paolo Roversi.Though he continues to work partially in digital, his heart gradually turned toward analog photography. Medium and large formats became not just tools, but companions in a slower, more deliberate way of seeing. For Lo, shooting on film isn’t about nostalgia—it’s about presence. The weight of the camera, the quiet between frames, the unpredictable beauty of the final image—all of it stands in quiet resistance to a world moving too fast.His work seeks to reveal timeless emotion and quiet strength—capturing not just appearances, but the unspoken atmosphere that lives between light and shadow.
